m7i.xlarge: 4 vCPU, 16 GiB, Linux, US East (N. Virginia). Spot prices move constantly; the commitment bills all 730 hours a month.

Prices checked 2026-10-10 against the provider's published rates. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Choose an instance type and the number of instances.
  2. Enter the hours each runs per month: 730 for always on, fewer for part-time workloads.
  3. Compare the three pricing models and note the trade-offs: spot can be interrupted, and a commitment bills 24x7.

Frequently asked questions

How was the pricing taken?

From the AWS Price List API for us-east-1, Linux, shared tenancy, and from EC2 spot price history, on the date shown. We froze the values in the page; prices elsewhere differ.

Is spot safe for production?

Spot instances can be reclaimed with two minutes notice. It suits stateless, fault-tolerant work such as CI runners, batch jobs and workers, not databases.

What does the 1-year commitment column assume?

A Standard Reserved Instance, 1-year, no upfront rate, which EC2 Instance Savings Plans match. You pay for all 730 hours of the month whether or not the instance runs.

What is not included?

EBS storage, data transfer, load balancers, and taxes. Use the EBS and data transfer calculators for those.
