Terms of Service

Last updated · Version 2026-10-22

These terms are an agreement between you and LUXLOGIK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14433322) ("we", "us"), which runs compiler.dev. By signing in, installing the compiler.dev GitHub App, starting a trial or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you accept for an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind it, and "you" means that organization too. If you do not agree, do not use compiler.dev.

compiler.dev is for businesses, organizations and professionals. It is not offered to consumers.

1. The service

compiler.dev runs your GitHub Actions jobs on our runners, and offers related features such as caching, code review, insights and Code in a box (together, the "service"). The service works with the repositories you choose when you install our GitHub App and enrol repositories. You can stop using it at any time by removing the app or the routing from your workflows.

We may change, add or remove features, and we may limit usage (for example by concurrency, size or rate) to keep the service stable for everyone.

2. Your account

You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account, your GitHub organization's installation of our app, and the people you give access to. Tell us promptly at contact@compiler.dev if you think your account has been misused.

3. Your code, secrets and workflows

You are responsible for your code, your secrets, your dependencies and everything your workflows do, including what they download, build, run, publish, deploy or send to third parties, and the access your tokens and credentials allow. Jobs run with the permissions and secrets you configure in GitHub. Do not run code you do not trust, and do not put secrets in places you would not be comfortable running on a shared service. You confirm you have the right to run the code and process the data you send to the service.

You keep all rights in your code and data. You give us the limited right to host, copy, process and run them only as needed to provide the service to you and to keep it secure.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the service to:

  • mine cryptocurrency or run workloads that are not building, testing or otherwise supporting software development;
  • attack, scan, disrupt or send abusive traffic to any third party or to our own systems, or try to break out of a runner, reach other customers' data or reach our internal network;
  • host, distribute or process illegal content, malware or content that infringes other people's rights;
  • evade or bypass usage limits, spending limits, billing, trial rules or technical controls, including by creating multiple accounts or organizations to do so;
  • resell or provide the service to others as a competing runner service without our written agreement;
  • break the law, or the terms of GitHub or any other service you use with ours.

We may suspend or end your access immediately, without notice and without liability, if we reasonably believe you have broken this section or put the service, our other customers or any third party at risk.

5. Runners and interruptions

Runners are short-lived machines. We may stop, pause or kill any runner or job at any time, for example for maintenance, abuse, capacity, cost protection, a spending limit being reached, or a fault. Jobs may be interrupted, delayed, re-queued or sent back to GitHub-hosted or your own runners. Caches are best effort and may be evicted at any time. You should not rely on the service as the only copy of anything, and you should keep your own backups.

6. Prepaid credit, trial and billing

Paid usage is prepaid. You buy credit in advance and usage is deducted from your balance at the prices shown in the app when you buy or use it. Prices are shown in US dollars and may exclude taxes, which you pay where they apply.

  • Trial. New organizations may get trial credit. A payment card is required to start the trial. When the trial credit is used up or expires, further use is charged to that card as credit purchases, within the monthly spending limit described below. You can cancel before the trial ends in the billing page of the app to avoid being charged.
  • Monthly spending limit. You set a monthly spending limit for your organization. We try to stop charging once it is reached, but usage already in progress at that moment may take the total slightly above the limit, and you remain responsible for it.
  • Trial and bonus credit have no cash value, cannot be transferred, are not refundable, and expire at the times shown in the app.
  • Purchased credit. Unused credit you paid for can be refunded on request to contact@compiler.dev. Credit already used is not refundable. We may deduct any amounts you owe us, and we may refuse or reverse refunds where we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse of the trial.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your card for amounts you buy or owe under these terms. If a payment fails or is disputed, we may suspend the service until it is resolved.

7. Availability and no warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that it will meet your needs, that results (including build, test, cache, review and insight results) will be accurate or complete, or about fitness for a particular purpose, satisfactory quality or non-infringement. Features marked beta, preview or experimental are especially likely to change or fail. Code review and insights are produced with the help of AI models and may be wrong; you decide what to do with them.

8. Limits on our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to that:

  • we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, or anticipated savings;
  • we are not liable for loss or corruption of data, code, caches or artifacts, or for the results, failures or delays of CI, tests, builds, reviews or deployments, or for the effects of a runner or job being stopped;
  • our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the service or these terms, in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

9. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us, and pay our reasonable costs and losses, in respect of any claim by a third party arising from your code, your data, your workflows or secrets, your use of the service in breach of these terms or the law, or the actions of anyone using your account.

10. Suspension and ending

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end the service to you for breach of these terms, non-payment, risk to the service, or by giving you reasonable notice. On ending, your right to use the service stops, we may delete your data after a reasonable period (see the Privacy Policy), and sections that by their nature should continue (including sections 3, 8, 9, 11 and 12) continue to apply.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the change is material we will give you notice, for example by email or in the app, and ask you to accept the new version before you carry on using paid features. The date above is the version you accept. If you do not agree to the new terms you must stop using the service.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. General

These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the service. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. We may assign these terms to a successor or affiliate; you may not assign them without our consent. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up. Neither of us is liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at GitHub, cloud providers or payment providers.
